Time quickly passed and the day arrived
for the match. As I came upon the agreed location for the match I was horrified
to see the whole town waiting to see the outcome. Of course they all bet against
me, I was nervous but had faith in my new found skills.
I will never forget the stunned looks on everyone's faces as my opponent hit
the ground after his attempt to over power me failed. I just reacted out of
reflex when he charged at me, He didn't expect me to move and he certainly didn't
expect me to react so effortlessly against his attack. With three quick strikes
to the side of his head it was all over. Strangely even though the villagers
lost their bets, they didn't seem to mind, as I became an instant hero.
In this way I made a living, offering myself up as the prize should anyone best
me in a match. I continued refining my skills under the watchful eye of my close
friend the Buddhist nun.
