Tan Sao (palm up arm) is interesting as it is applied differently in many Wing
Chun circles.
You have sliding.
Also rolling
As well as reverse
And furthermore flipping
Each version has its place and none
can be said to be the only way.
Lets examine them one by one.

Feedback
It has been suggested that Tan Sao should be lower, directed toward chest of
opponent. Certainly this is possible.
If I may just give my reasoning for the angles shown.
First it is anticipated that for the purpose of the examples shown, the Tan
Sao is applied against an attack to the head level.
Secondly by deflecting towards opponents face level it may be possible to continue
and strike opponents head.
Finally by occupying the upper gate it makes it more difficult for a second
attack to come through.
This does not mean that you must have Tan Sao on this angle, only that it is possible.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
