First of all can I say that the spelling of Chinese terminology is not an exact science, and I hope no one take offense to the way they are spelt here. I think that as long as we agree that we are talking about the same technique the spelling can be forgiven if it differs to yours.

There are many Wing Chun techniques, more than most other systems.
Why?
Two reasons.
1/ Economy
2/ Choice

Economy allows the fastest possible counter while choice gives you the ability to confuse your opponent.
Because of the many variables possible within a combat situation, your hands could be in a great number of different positions, and the attack could come from many different angles.
You may have to deal with the attack from a parallel or cross arm position, from under, over, inside or outside of the attack, from an extended or bent arm position, and so on.

Within the following lessons we will examine how and why the techniques are applied. These classes are always open for discussion, If you do not agree or want to add to a lesson I encourage you to speak up.
